-
How much does it cost to join OWF or enter a race?
There is no membership fee to join Operation WarriorFit. Most race entries come with only a $9.95 processing and administrative fee, which helps cover internal costs and ensures our program remains sustainable.
While the majority of events include this minimal fee, we do offer some fully sponsored races at no cost to participants—typically through special partnerships or donor-funded campaigns. Our goal is always to make endurance events accessible for every veteran, service member, and first responder who wants to take that first step.
-
How is Operation WarriorFit different from other veteran nonprofits?
Unlike many organizations, OWF combines physical fitness, mental health support, and community accountability into a single mission. We’re not just offering resources—we’re creating an environment where veterans and first responders rebuild purpose through shared goals and movement. Our points system and team-based model ensure long-term engagement and impact.
-
How can I support OWF if I’m not a veteran or first responder?
We welcome allies and supporters who want to help make a difference. You can donate, become a Mission Essential Sponsor, volunteer at events, or simply spread the word on social media. Every action counts in helping us reach more lives.
-
How do I sign up or get involved with OWF?
It’s simple—just visit our Get Involved page or use the Contact Us form to reach out. Whether you’re looking to participate, volunteer, or donate, we’ll help guide you to the right place and welcome you into the OWF community.
-
What is the Operation WarriorFit points system, and how will it work?
We’re developing a points-based system to recognize and reward consistent participation, community engagement, and follow-through.
Participants will earn points by:
Registering and showing up for OWF races
Posting race-day photos or testimonials
Volunteering at events or helping recruit others
Staying engaged in group training or wellness challenges
These points will help determine eligibility for limited-entry, high-demand events, such as national championship races or major city marathons.
Only select events—identified based on popularity, cost, and availability—will require points to enter via a lottery system.
This ensures that our most committed and engaged members get priority access while maintaining fairness and accountability across the board.
-
How do I know what races are available through OWF?
Races supported by OWF will be listed on our official website, social media, and email announcements.
We partner with a wide range of endurance event organizers nationwide, and we’re constantly expanding the list.
Each race listing will include details like location, distance, availability, and whether it qualifies for free entry, the $9.95 fee, or the future points-based lottery.
-
What if I sign up for a race and can’t attend?
We understand that life happens—but to ensure fairness and resource accountability, we have a race commitment policy.
First missed race: Warning issued
Second missed race: 30-day pause from benefits
Third missed race: 90-day suspension
Fourth missed race: Full review of eligibility
This policy protects our resources, honors our sponsors, and ensures that race spots go to participants who are ready to follow through.
-
How does OWF support mental health through fitness?
Our entire model is built on the belief that movement heals. Physical fitness is a proven tool for reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and stress—especially among veterans and first responders.
By offering structured challenges, community connection, and goal-oriented events, OWF helps rebuild the sense of purpose, discipline, and camaraderie that many lose after service.
It’s not just about running—it’s about rediscovering who you are, and who you want to become.
-
Who is eligible to participate in Operation WarriorFit programs?
Operation WarriorFit provides free or heavily discounted entry into a wide variety of endurance events across the country. These events are designed to challenge both the body and mind, helping participants rediscover purpose, build community, and improve mental health through movement and camaraderie.
